South Africa’s Western Cape province has an area known as the West Coast. This territory is bounded on the west by the Atlantic Ocean and on the east by the Swartland region. The region is famous for its picturesque landscapes and rich fishing grounds, and it runs for more than 400 kilometers from north to south. The most important urban centers in this area include Saldanha, Paternoster, Vredenburg, Velddrif, St. Helena Bay, Langebaan, Hopefield, Darling, and Yzerfontein. The West Coast National Park is the primary natural preserve in this part of the country.
