MALARIA FREE SAFARI’S

Even though it is now much easier to avoid contracting malaria when traveling, some people still choose to limit themselves to malaria-free safaris in Africa. For instance, it is an excellent choice for a babymoon or for families that are traveling with small children or the elderly who may not choose to take anti-malaria medicine.

South Africa has a vast number of exclusive malaria free areas for an amazing big five game and Safari experience. From the beautiful surrounds of the Eastern Cape to the Waterberg region in the Limpopo  or the magnificent Madikwe Game reserve bordering Botswana, all offer a unique Safari experience.   

The Madikwe Game Reserve is home to huge open plains that are covered with grasses and woods. To prevent bigger animals from escaping the preserve, an electric fence with a perimeter of 150 kilometers has been constructed around the area.

The well-known Mafikeng road passes right in the middle of the reserve. Even before the reserve was formed, this road had a reputation for being an important historical route. On his journey to extend the Matabele Kingdom, King Mzilikazi traveled through the Madikwe region many years ago. He was on his way to Madikwe.
