The country South Africa, which is located at the southernmost point of Africa, is distinguished by a number of distinctive ecosystems. The big 5 are found at Kruger National Park, a popular inland safari destination. The largest city in South Africa and the seat of Gauteng province, Johannesburg,  was once a community of gold miners in the 19th century. Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu previously lived in the vast Soweto township. The Mandela House museum currently stands where Mandela once lived.
